Parent Organizations

At Burley, parents are partners in our school's success!

Parents are involved in many ways at Burley. From read-alouds and projects to special events and cultural celebrations, our parents make a meaningful contribution in the classroom. Parents also help support our school through our Parent Organizations:  The PTO, Friends of Burley, and the LSC. If you are a current Burley parent, we encourage you to get involved! If you are a future parent, we can't wait to welcome you into our vibrant, engaged parent community.

The PTO’s goal is to create a welcoming and collaborative environment for Burley families, staff and the local community. Funds raised through events and school merchandise sales help supplement and enrich the experience of all Tigers.  The PTO is a volunteer organization designed to work as partners with staff to ensure Burley continues to be a great place for our children to grow and learn.

PTO Funds Support: Author Visits, Room Parents, Family Events, Community Outreach, Cultural Arts Activities, Support for In-need Students and much more! To participate in PTO or for more information, please contact Courtney Pischke, President courtneypischke(at)gmail.com.

Friends of Burley is an all volunteer group of parents with serious expertise in having fun and serious heart for the work that goes on within these four walls every day. We work together with the Burley School administration to set fundraising goals that ensure Burley School has what it needs to stay amazing.

The Local School Council (LSC) is a publicly elected body that works with teachers and administrators to set the direction for the school and identify areas in which the school should improve. An LSC reviews and approves the school's budget and its Continuous Improvement Work Plan (CIWP). It also hires and evaluates the principal.
